Though physically small, Singapore is an economic giant. It has been Southeast Asia's most modern city for over a century. The city blends Malay, Chinese, Arab, Indian and English cultures and religions. Its unique ethnic tapestry affords visitors a wide array of sightseeing and culinary opportunities from which to choose.
About 5.5 million people live in Singapore (as of end-June 2014). 3.4 million people are citizens and the remaining 2.1 million people are foreign nationals, of which 0.5 million are permanent residents and 1.5 million are non-permanent residents. One-third of Singapore citizens are foreign-born naturalised citizens. Because of its being an immigrant country, and its numerous links to the global economy, Singapore is one of the most globalised countries in the world.
As wayfinding consultants, we have to engage in problem solving to know where you are in a building or an environment, knowing where your desired location is, and knowing how to get there from our present location. The description will lead to improved signage and easier wayfinding.
Our Portfolio
UDS Design was selected by UOB bank to design and build new kiosks and lobbies for all their island wide ATMs. This new kiosk includes brochure holders, and ad panel frame and an LCD display.
UDS Design was engaged by Tokio Marine to provide signage services consisting of outdoor and indoor signs.
A design of the interior signage incorporating with the branding guide was implemented. The use of different treatment in a signage panel was employed to give a premium look to the sign. The wayfinding from the external driveway for vehicular, navigation within the new office block , from the new block access to the existing block was also part of the work
UDS Design was commissioned to incorporate the identity within the building. The challenge in this project is to cantilever a 4m x 12m size signage 2m away from the roof line. The design of the structure has to be aesthetically integrated for future maintenance accessibility.
UDS Design was working together with the Architect for the supply and install of the hotel main facade, entrance and walkway signage. As client is looking for a green, energy saving and ease of maintenance solution, LED lightings are used for logos and box-up signages.
UDS Design was engaged to provide the signage solution for the hotel with proper wayfinding program. The overall thematic scheme has to integrate with the hotel's identity and enviroment.
In this development, UDS Design was engaged to provide a total wayfinding solution for the brand new hotel. This also involves in conceptualising the logos' design for the outlets within the hotel facilities.
UDS Design was involved in the design and branding consultancy for the Days Hotel. The consultancy program consists of both the external and internal signs as well as the logos for the operating outlets by the hotel.
